After some intense couple of months, I searched for a trip with an all inclusive package and some sun to focus on rest and recovery. I went with Greece, Crete and the hotel Almyra Hotel & Village. I spent two weeks at the hotel in July.

From Sitia airport up in northern Crete it took about 1h 10 min to the hotel by bus. A trip with lots of nature, peaks and valleys and lots of olive trees.

Almyra hotel & Village – The room

I had a double room, a really nice and clean room with pretty much everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and the room had good space and a nice bathroom. The room got cleaned every day.

The hotel had an all inclusive package, where food and drinks were free during the stay. There were 3 meal times, and you could get snacks and some food at the pool bar or the beach bar in between. The food was absolutely superb, fresh and a mix of everything. The hotel served typical Greek dishes as well as food that is always liked by people, such as spaghetti, french fries and pizza.

The breakfast – yogurt, cereal, bread, eggs of various shapes, beans, cheeses, pancakes with Nutella, fruit, desserts like donuts, pies etc. Juices, coffee, etc.

Lunch & Dinner – salad buffet, vegetarian table, grill section, children’s section, dessert table, fruit table. They served different types of meat, chicken, fish and vegetables. Every day there were different dishes so everyone could find their favorite. The food was constantly filled and always fresh. Beer, wine soda and water are available at lunch and dinner.

Pool / beach

The pool is large. Next to it there is also a baby and a children’s pool. The pool is cleaned every morning. By the pool and on the lawn there are beautiful sun beds with thick mattresses. There are no parasols at the pool but on the lawn next to the pool area. If you want to have some peace and quiet, lay up on the grass, a bit from the pool.

Long beach is the beach by the hotel, a long beach with rocks. The salty sea is clear and very inviting. One tip is to use beach shoes. The hotel has sun beds and beach umbrellas as well as a beach bar, which is easily accessible for drinks and snacks. There are toilets and showers at the bar so you can easily rinse the salt.

For those who like water sports there is a external company next to the hotel’s part of the beach so you can easily book water scoters etc.

The weather

During my two weeks at Almyra hotel & village the weather was between 28-33 degrees. The wind was pretty strong some days, I don´t know if it was temporary or recurring, but good to know.

For those who like to exercise during their holiday the hotel has meny great options. I took walks as well as a run along the beach on a dirt road, a stretch of a few kilometers. You can easily run back and forth and get a few kilometers in your body. If you’re out early, you can experience the wonderful sunrise. For the tennis lover there is a nice court in the hotel area as well as a table tennis table. You can also rent bikes at the hotel.

The hotel has a great running path along the beach. Get up early and catch the amazing sun rise.

There is a shop in the hotel area with drinks, snacks, clothes and a variety of beach-related products such as sunscreen, bath mattresses, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The food was very good and fresh and there were lots of choices. The staff were very nice and helpful.
